Thorn Tree project -- background and activities
The bracelet project

In 2005 some of the mothers of the students started making bracelets to sell in America and Europe to help with the funding for the school. They are beautiful and unusual.

We sell them in America and Europe for $30 each . All the money excluding the cost of the beads and one and a half dollars which the mothers take as payment for their work goes to the school. Each bracelet comes with an attached tag and they make wonderful gifts.

The bracelets can be purchased in New York from Clodagh at 670 Broadway NY New York, Tel 1 212 780 5300.
Their web site is http://clodagh.com

This web site was designed  by NairoBits a not-for-profit organization in Nairobi that trains youth from the slums of Nairobi in ICT and to become professional web designers.  Almost all of their clients are in Europe and the USA and they service them via email. They have been successful because their design fees are low but the work is of world class standard. To find out more contact Mark Kamau at mark@nairobits.com
